Facilities: Two locations - Birch Hill Farm, located in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, is a complete training facility specializing in the development of young Thoroughbreds into Event horses. Situated on 400 acres, the facility includes a 15 stall barn, complete with amenities. Winter Book Farm is located in Southern Pines, North Carolina. 14 stalls, separate guest wing with its own wash stall, feed and tack rooms. The facility includes a regulation size dressage arena, show jumping field, turf track and a complete cross country schooling course suitable for the training of horses at all levels. Winter Book is adjacent to the more than four thousand acre Walthour-Moss Foundation which has many miles of hacking and conditioning roads and trails.
Instruction: Mark placed third at the Rolex Kentucky CCI****, eighth at the Burghley CCI**** and won the USET Fall 3-Day Championships at Fair Hill in 1994 and again in 1998. Mark has represented the U.S. in the Open European Championships in England as a member the USET/USEF Team and was short-listed for the U.S. Olympic Team for Atlanta in 1996. He is a licensed USEF Dressage and Eventing judge; he has had his “r” Dressage rating for 25 years and his “r” CT (eventing) for approximately 10 years. Mark has also been appointed a USEF Eventing Selector, a position he has held for about 6 years. In the course of his career, Mark has had the privilege of training under the likes of Jack LeGoff and Capt. Mark Phillips thanks to his involvement with the USET and USEF teams.
