Team Competition
North American Junior and Young Riders Championship (NAJYRC)
The NAJYRC is the pinnacle team experience a young rider can achieve. The competition is held each year in late July. The Olympic disciplines of Eventing, Dressage, Show Jumping and Reining are all represented in this FEI championship level competition between teams from Canada, Mexico, the 10 Areas of the United States and occasionally a Caribbean team.
This event brings together the best Young Riders in North America and is closely watched by all North American equestrians. It is also sanctioned by the International Olympic committee as a Junior Olympic event. It goes without saying that the atmosphere is very electric! For the discipline of Eventing, each Area can field one 4 member team and up to 2 individual riders in each level: the CCI* Junior Championships and the CCI** Young Rider Championships. For full qualification criteria for each level see the Selection Criteria document.
The 2011 NAJYRC will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, July 27-31.

The UNH Horse Trials Mixed Team Competition is an exciting opportunity for lower level riders to compete as part of a Young Rider team and for riders at different levels to help each other. The event starts with a BBQ for competitors and a course walk with an Area I trainer the night before competition. Competitors will be stabled together. Riders will be placed on teams made up of beginner novice, novice and training riders. An experienced Young Rider member will help out all teams as an advisor/mentor. Teams will compete against each other, and individuals will still be scored and placed against the other individuals according to their division in the competition.
