A Week of Eventing
Competition & Education at GMHA: Training Level Three-Day & August
Horse Trials to Merge
The Training Level Three-Day
(T3D), a unique event blending competition and education, made its return to
GMHA in 2007. This event brings the traditional
“long format” (including steeplechase) to the Training Level, teaching riders a
unique set of skills while enjoying a new variation of their sport. The GMHA Training Level Three-Day is one of
only 8 of its kind in the
The August Horse Trials, always a season
highlight for GMHA, is only getting more exciting! Last season, Tremaine
Cooper’s newly designed cross-country course made its debut, kicking off the
Intermediate level’s return to GMHA. The
Intermediate level will be offered again this season at GMHA, giving eventing enthusiasts a golden opportunity to see some of
the sport’s top horses and riders in action.
In addition to the traditional Training and Preliminary levels, GMHA
will also be hosting the Preliminary Area I Championships. This season, the educational activities won’t
end with the Three-Day; presentations & course walks will be held
throughout the August Horse Trials. The
educational events schedule will be announced as the competition draws closer.
The competition schedule will
be as follows:

In order to make these events
possible, GMHA needs your support. Many
volunteers will be needed, particularly on Thursday and Saturday for the
cross-country portions of each event.
Anyone able to volunteer for a full day (or two half days) will be admitted
to any educational activities throughout the week- a great way to gain
knowledge while supporting your sport. No
experience is necessary, anyone can volunteer!
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for both events.
More details will be posted
to GMHA’s website, www.gmhainc.org , as they become
available. Questions? Want to volunteer or become a sponsor? Contact the Green Mountain Horse Association
at (802) 457-1509 or aedson@gmhainc.org.
